The quality of jacket itself is as good as expected - soft, light weight yet warm and water-resistant. However, I write mainly to thank the great help of the reviews of this product - they are critical to help me choose the right size. I wear M size for most clothes - from jacket to shirt. However, after reading many reviews saying that this jacket is at least one grade larger than expected, I decided to choose S. Now this seems a perfect fit. Also, the sleeves are a little longer than expected - as mentioned in other reviews, but not big deal, because the material of the sleeves is very soft and thin, so they can pile up without hampering movement.

I use this for running, and it works. I use it as a top layer, and it blocks wind but seems to breathe easy enough as well. I typically wear an XL for most coats (6'1" and 220 pounds) but this had several reviews stating get a size down. It's very applicable. I bought a Large, it still has plenty of room for a few heavier layers underneath if I want them. The sizing is off, but it's pretty big. Otherwise, it's nice, has zip pockets including an arm media pocket. Good deal.

I baught this thinking it was a semi-light jacket, that had some sort of lining. I is not lined at all. The material is roughly as thick as a heavy t-shirt. It is warmer than a t-shirt, but if its lower than the mid 40s or so, this wont be enough jacket. In short, if its cool enough to need a jacket, this one is a bit too thin. Im not sure exactly what the application for this would be. That said, it seems very well made, and looks nice. Be aware though that the size runs large, so if your on the line, go down rather than up. In fact, had I not already had to exchange this for a smaller size I would return it, and get a different jacket. This is just not what I was looking for. Its nicely made, though, so if your tougher to the cold than I am, it may be what you want.

I decided to go with the Amazon/Grill color because it was only $47 for Prime members. Plus I tend to go for earth tones in general-Greens, Browns & Black. This jacket lacks any sort of lining (no bonded fleece lining). However, that makes it very breathable and allows it to stretch in all directions. The main flaws are: It doesn't have cuff adjustments/straps nor does it have a pull cord around the bottom. For the price...it is excellent and well made!!!! I'm 5'10" and I weigh 165 and I normally wear a Medium and I prefer an athletic fit. When it comes to Padagonia, Stoic and Mountain Hardware, I always wear a size M. In my opinion, Columbia runs large. I originally ordered this jacket in a size M and it was GINORMIOUS on me. This jacket in size M was cut like a bell shaped trash bag on me. I decided to send it back in exchange for a size S. I have a couple of old Columbia PFG long sleeve shirts and when I checked the size on them, they were also a size M. Those shirts are also waaaaaaay too big on me. So I can't help but think that Columbia runs on the large side in general. The Small that I got back is a perfect fit. It isn't an athletic fit but it fits a lot like my Mountain Hardware G50 in size M. Don't get me wrong, I really like this jacket and it will go great over some merino wool layers or an ultralight puffy. It is lighter and more breathable than my Mountain Hardware G50. I would give this 5 stars but I'm giving it 4 stars because there aren't any cuff/waist adjustments. I'll update/edit this review after I put this jacket through the wringer! Country of origin: Indonesia.

    Update: 12/16/2012

Pros: Very light, very breathable, shed light rain. I like that my ultralight expensive puffy jacket fits under it. Makes a great puffy protector which is what I'll be using it for while camping/backpacking.

Cons: Thorns will pull out thread and shred this thing so don't use it for bushwhacking off trail like I did. Just take a lighter and singe the thread...no it won't be perfect but it is better than cutting or pulling it. It definitely isn't as durable as I had hoped. I still love the jacket and I'm planning on keeping it.

First off, I'm 6'-4" and 300lbs. I define the "big & tall" section and rarely find clothes that fit outside it. After reading some reviews about this jacket running large, I hesitantly ordered it hoping for the best. I was THRILLED when I tried it on after arriving. The sleeves are plenty long, even when my arms are stretched out straight, I've still got extra length. The overall fit is loose, perfect for wearing over a fleece or similar fluffy under layer, but not too big to wear over a plain t-shirt. Absolutely love the fit!

As to the jacket itself, another absolute love! It's light weight, but WARM. It's water proof, wind proof, but BREATHABLE. I wore it a full day skiing over a fleece and loved it. It cut the wind but also kept me from getting drenched in sweat. The pocket on the left arm was a perfect stash for my phone to pull it out on the lift ride back to the top. Stylish and sporty to wear out for the night as well. VERY happy!!

My husband is 6'2" and about 190lbs...the Large Tall is a great fit on him. Nice color without being overwhelmingly green...classic columbia style in a light weight jacket. Material is great looking without being a plastic shell- type jacket. IT will keep this great look because of the quality material.
