I stretched my first set of Norelco razor heads to over two years. They seemed to be working fine. I was used to them. Of course there was a little more irritation than when new, but I was willing to pay that price. Then my wife purchased a new set for me for Christmas.

Out of curiosity, I set the new blades next to the old blades to see if I could visually tell a difference. On the new set, the "Lift & Cut" action that Norelco markets is clearly visible. It looks like a double-decker set of blades--one just a smidge above the other. On the old blades, there was no noticeable difference. If I didn't know any better, I would have though my old set was just a single blade. On most blades the two parts were bent or fused or worn together (I don't know what is actually happening). On only a few could I see that the two blades were still separated, but there was so much gunk in between them that I doubt they were of any benefit.

So I installed the new blades, fired them up, and...SURPRISE! I could actually feel a difference in the blades. The best I can describe is a gentle tugging while I moved the razor across my face. I assume that is the "Lift & Cut" action actually working. I honestly thought it was a gimmick, but not anymore. My shave was closer and with less irritation than with my old set of blades.

The price was cheaper than a new razor. The battery on the original razor, going on 3 years now, is still going strong. Will I now start replacing my blades every year? Probably not. I'm too cheap. But I will now look forward to the new blades or razor when the time comes!

Fits my 1150 model Norelco electric razor. The replacement blades alone cost about the same as this entire unit so opted to go with this item from Amazon. Read in another review where you can buy a different replacement head and have the 3D upgrade, which is supposed to be a huge upgrade but the price is quite a bit more. I only use this when I'm in a rush and shaving dry otherwise I go with a straight razor, which most will agree is the closest shave, bar none and a good quality blade will last you a lifetime if you care for it well. Since this was only ever meant to be a part time use item, it wasn't worth the extra cost of upgrade. Chose the straight replacement and it connected easily and works well and you don't have to worry about the blades not working with your old screens since it comes as a complete unit.

Unlike most of my peers, I don't have a beard or mustache and still shave regularly. Not every day, but regularly. I first bought my Norelco SensoTouch Shaver while I was still working and I was shaving every day. After 40+ years of using a straight razor, I immediately fell in love with the electric version. It was recommended that you change the shaving heads every six months and because I was such a happy camper, I did just that. There was a little improvement, but I decided that my whiskers just weren't making those whirring steel blades that dull that quickly. So I extended the replacement time a little. I bought the next replacement set . . . six years later!! I quickly discovered that there is a difference between cutting your whiskers with sharp whirring steel blades and just pinching them out with dull blades. Seriously, for the minimum amount you pay, the benefit of reduced pain is well worth it. I highly recommend these replacement shaving heads. Your face will thank you. You know, that small improvement in quality of life. And I wouldn't wait six years to buy them. This purchase was my third replacement and this time I only waited three years. As I get older, I am less in to pain. So, I am going to shoot for an annual replacement this time.

I bought this replacement head for the Philips Norelco 1150BT/48 Sensotouch 2D Electric Razor with Click-On Beard Styler (Series 6000) that I purchased on Amazon about two years ago. This item restored my original razor to its original condition. My boyfriend is so happy!

These Norelco razors are really nice and are worth the extra cash I think. His has been going strong for two years now (purchased on November 30, 2014 from Amazon). He doesn't shave very often (maybe two to four times a month), and this is the first time that we've had to buy a replacement head. We also needed the green triangle part that holds the blade in place because the original had cracked. Luckily the replacement head comes with that piece.

My very favorite part of this item is that it is so simple to reinstall. Just pop it off and the new one clicks right in.

These blades have breathed a new lease of life into my four year old Philips electric razer.

I replaced the blades about 2 years ago, but after another two years they just were not shaving close any more.

They may be expensive, but they are less than 1/3rd of the cost of replacing the entire razer.

My wife, who had been complaining that I never looked like I'd had a "good" shave, noticed the difference immediately.

I must admit that I did too - I hadn't really noticed how bad the old set of blades had got, especially at catching the hairs on my neck, but did notice how much better this new set of blades were.
